We will conclude the tour with lunch at Jack’s BBQ nearby. \nPlease bring your own PPE\, if necessary NAWIC Puget Sound can provide. \n*NAWIC Members only event* \nThis major project for the City of Algona and King County Solid Waste will replace one of the region’s busiest transfer stations while improving infrastructure\, including the Algona Sewer Line and West Valley Highway realignment\, all while keeping the existing facility operational. \nThe project also includes stream restoration in partnership with the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe\, and is targeting the Zero Energy Petal of the Living Building Challenge—with features like low-carbon concrete\, solar energy generation\, and advanced water management systems. \nA great opportunity to see complex infrastructure and sustainability in action while connecting with others in the industry.

DESCRIPTION:Mary’s Place plays a critical role in addressing family homelessness in our community\, keeping families together\, safe\, and supported while they work toward permanent housing. \nWe’re excited to partner with Mary’s Place for an upcoming volunteer day. We’ll be rolling up our sleeves in their South Lake Union administrative space. We will help to refresh the office with a fresh coat of paint and a little TLC. This space\, formerly home to a KEXP radio station\, continues to evolve as a place where meaningful work happens behind the scenes. \nWhile it may not be a job site\, it’s just as impactful. Supporting the administrative side of organizations like Mary’s Place helps keep critical programs running.
