DESCRIPTION:Join us April 9th from 10:00–11:30 AM for a site walk of the new South County Recycling & Transfer Station\, hosted by Lydig Construction. We will conclude the tour with lunch at Jack’s BBQ nearby. \nPlease bring your own PPE\, if necessary NAWIC Puget Sound can provide. \n*NAWIC Members only event* \nThis major project for the City of Algona and King County Solid Waste will replace one of the region’s busiest transfer stations while improving infrastructure\, including the Algona Sewer Line and West Valley Highway realignment\, all while keeping the existing facility operational. \nThe project also includes stream restoration in partnership with the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe\, and is targeting the Zero Energy Petal of the Living Building Challenge—with features like low-carbon concrete\, solar energy generation\, and advanced water management systems. \nA great opportunity to see complex infrastructure and sustainability in action while connecting with others in the industry.
